The bowl of this Briar Churchwarden Pipe is squat and plump, with some extra thickness around its base,— an embodiment of Peterson’s shaping style as exemplified in their Churchwardens. However, the shank and transition are much more delicate, leaning towards the classic British style.
This briar churchwarden tobacco pipe is quite lengthy allowing you to smoke comfortably without frequent interruptions while reading in your favorite armchair- Germans even translate the name as ‘Lesepfeife’ or ‘reading pipe’. The design was first created many centuries ago in Europe and was widely adored by the nobility.
Hand-carved into a simple straight shape the pipe is made of solid briar wood. Though not pocket-friendly due to their slim size and lightness, Briar Churchwarden Pipes give smokers a relaxed posture – As for me, I would also like to point out that a smooth finish with beautiful gold contrast popping out can be considered one of my favorite parts about this pipe. As far as I am concerned, this design truly captivated me from the moment I saw it.
